Clear aligners are a new and advanced technology in the field of orthodontics.

In this type of treatment, a set of clear aligners that are almost invisible are used to provide the necessary force to move the teeth into their correct place and correct their alignment.

The aligner is replaced approximately every two weeks in order to gradually move the teeth to their intended position in the treatment plan. You will feel some discomfort in the first few days after replacing the aligner, but this discomfort will go away automatically.

Can I remove the aligner when I go to work?

Wearing the aligner for less than this time will result in the aligner not expressing the programmed information inside it, and thus you will not get the required movement.

What are the advantages of clear aligners compared to fixed braces?

• Cosmetic Aspect: The aligners are transparent and most people will not notice that you are wearing them.
• Oral Hygiene: Both types of orthodontic treatment require good oral care procedures and commitment to tooth brushing. Since clear aligners can be removed when brushing and there are no wires or brackets attached to the teeth, oral care procedures are much easier with clear aligners than with fixed braces.
• Shorter In-Clinic Sessions: Your clinic sessions are shorter when treated with aligners. The session's work is limited to ensuring that the treatment is proceeding in the correct direction, replacing the aligners, and performing some simple IPR procedures.

What are the steps to perform clear aligners?

Then we manufacture your custom aligners and start the treatment.

Important Patient Instructions

We remind you that treatment with clear aligners depends on your commitment and cooperation in wearing the aligners and following the required instructions, otherwise you will not get the desired result from the treatment.

You should also avoid drinking colored drinks while wearing your aligners because colored liquids can settle between the aligners and your teeth, causing stains. You will need to remove your clear aligners before drinking colored drinks.

Need for Additional Sets of Aligners

Clear aligners are designed digitally by computer, but in some cases your teeth do not respond to the programmed movements of the aligner as expected. When such cases occur, we need to add a few aligners at the end of the treatment to achieve the desired optimal result.

Will I need retainers after clear aligners treatment is finished?

Yes! After completing orthodontic treatment—whether with fixed braces or clear aligners—and removing the force applied to the teeth, the periodontal ligaments try to return the tooth to its place before treatment.

To prevent this from happening, we need to use retainers to give these ligaments enough time to reorganize themselves and prevent unwanted tooth movements. Retainers are usually transparent removable devices or fixed wires attached to the inside of the teeth, which are invisible and comfortable for the patient.
